Jewel简介
Jewel于1974年5月23日，出生于美国尤他州的Payson，但是她随着家庭搬到了更靠
北部的的阿拉斯加的Anchorage，她的祖父Juel给她取了Jewel这个名字，六岁时，
她就开始歌唱生涯，她经常跟随父母在所居住的爱斯基摩村落里演出，并倍受当地
村民喜爱。接下来的七年中她跟随离婚的父亲到处演出，直到她考上了密歇根州的
Interlochen美术学院。在学院的学习过程中她还参与了戏剧的表演，在学期末的
会演节目《Spoon River Anthology》中担任主演。她在毕业后去圣地亚哥找到了
母亲，并找到了工作，但是她逐渐受不了了这种朝九晚五的工作方式，于是她决定
把自己的主要精力放在音乐上。

　　1995年她与Atlantic唱片公司签约，并发行了第一张LP唱片《Pieces of You
》。开始的时候并没有受到太多的关注，直到专辑发行14个月之后才爬上了
Billboard排行榜，专辑中的《Who Will Save Your Soul》成为热门单曲，并且使
专辑的销量大增，同时另两首单曲《You Were Meant for Me》和《Foolish
Games》也颇受欢迎。

　　1998年Jewel出版了她的诗集《A Night Without Armor》，并在纽约时报的畅
销书排行榜中名列前茅。同年又推出了歌迷们期望已久的第二张专辑《Spirit》。
1999年发行了《Joy: A Holiday Collection》，2000年发行了《Chasing Down
the Dawn》。2001年发行《This Way》。2003年6月3日，Jewel推出了第六张专辑
《0304》。
